Remarks:

Sh2-63 is an object from the second Sharpless Catalog, published in 1959 with 313 entries of HII regions. Catalogs of this size are rarely error-free - as a result, they also include galaxies such as Sh2-197, supernova remnants such as Sh2-248, and planetary nebulae such as Sh2-6.
Sh2-63 is also a “misclassification” - not an HII region, but a faint molecular cloud that is not self-luminous and belongs to the galactic cirrus. Due to its size in the sky, even with a full-frame sensor and an 1800mm focal length, it required the creation of a small mosaic combining a northern and a southern section.

Sh2-63 ist ein Objekt aus dem zweiten Sharpless-Katalog, erschienen 1959 mit 313 Einträgen von HII-Regionen. Kataloge mit einem solchen Umfang sind selten fehlerfrei - so finden sich dort auch Galaxien wie Sh2-197, SNRs wie Sh2-248 und Planetarische Nebel wie Sh2-6.
Auch Sh2-63 ist ein „Irrläufer“, keine HII-Region, sondern eine lichtschwache Molekülwolke, nicht selbstleuchtend und dem galaktischen Zirrus zuzuordnen. Die Ausdehnung am Himmel erforderte bei 1800mm-Brennweite trotz Vollformatchip die Anfertigung eines kleinen Mosaiks aus einem nördlichen und einem südlichen Teil.
