Remarks:

Cederblad 111 is a blue reflection nebula in the Chamaeleon I molecular cloud, a well studied region of star formation in the Milky Way. Its glow is produced by light from HD 97048 scattering off the surrounding dust particles in the molecular cloud. Below the reflection nebula lies a reddish nebula shaped like a fan, known as the Chamaeleon Infrared Nebula, or Cha IRN. It is closely associated with the Herbig Haro object HH 909 A.
Another interesting detail in this molecular cloud is the nebula with a pale yellow glow above Cederblad 111. Several red filaments are also visible above and to the right of Cederblad 111. They belong to a complex of shock fronts known as the Herbig Haro object HH 50. The individual knots and filaments are catalogued as HH 50 A through HH 50 K.

   

Bemerkungen:

Cederblad 111 ist ein blau leuchtender Reflexionsnebel in der Molekülwolke Chamaeleon I, einer gut erforschten Sternentstehungsregion der Milchstraße. Sein Leuchten entsteht durch die Streuung des Lichts von HD 97048 an den umgebenden Staubpartikeln der Molekülwolke. Unterhalb des Reflexionsnebels erkennt man einen fächerförmigen, rötlichen Nebel, der als Chamaeleon Infrarotnebel bezeichnet wird, kurz Cha IRN. Er steht in enger Verbindung mit dem Herbig Haro Objekt HH 909 A.
Ein weiteres interessantes Detail dieser Molekülwolke ist der weißlich gelb leuchtende Nebel oberhalb von Cederblad 111. Rechts oberhalb von Cederblad 111 erkennt man außerdem einige rot leuchtende Filamente. Sie gehören zu einem Komplex aus Stoßfronten, der als Herbig Haro Objekt HH 50 bezeichnet wird. Die einzelnen Knoten und Filamente sind unter den Bezeichnungen HH 50 A bis HH 50 K katalogisiert.
